Career builders can be some of the best things you can expect in your career advancement. You need these not just to get the job of your dreams but to get ahead of it. If you have always dreamed about your career success, then career building is definitely for you.
Career builders can take the form of training, seminars, workshops and continuing education, and willingly and actively participating in these activities can help you get an edge over others.
If you are looking for a job, you may simply document (with evidence) in your resume the skills you acquired in the builder programs. These might be enough to convince your future employer of you value, and you do not even need to be interviewed. In case you are currently employed, taking a career building program can help improve the package of skills and services that you can offer to your employer. Whether it is an improved work attitude or new skills, the employer will definitely notice you more.
When you inform your employer of your participation in career building programs, you are not only giving a hint that you have become more capable, skilled and updated in your field. You are also giving an indication that you are committed and eager to advance your skills and knowledge for the benefit of the company. An employer loves no one better than an employee who is always open to change and improvement.
There is no double about what good career builders can do you, but many people become clueless when it comes to choose the right one to take. This is not because of the lack of choice, but, rather, the huge of number of choices for you to screen. You do not want to get stuck taking the wrong one. How can you tell which program is good and appropriate for you?
Undoubtedly, it is a good idea to ask for advice from a career consultant. Career counselors have been especially trained to find out the strengths and weaknesses of a person in a given field. This will allow him to assess which program fits you most in your situation.
For some individuals, a grueling, long-term continuing education program may just be the necessary career builder. For some others though, a less demanding form will equally help them make an advancement in their careers. This may include a one-day seminar on how to write business letters, resumes and corporate memos, or some short courses about how to dress properly, how to speak in public and how to make simple presentations. Programs and seminars that teach you the simplest and most basic things may unknowingly be great career building helpers.
In any case, career builders are not something that you can put off for later. With the competition in the employment force today, you definitely have to consider them as part of your life, especially if you want to be better equipped to take on more demanding responsibilities and challenges.
Are you considering undertaking career builders to help with your career development? If you are truly serious, you will like to visit our career development site for more information dedicated to your career success.

Choosing A Career In Electro-Mechanical Technology

Being skilled in a variety of electrical, electronic and mechanical work can be a big advantage to any individual especially in these uncertain times. While some people possessing non-mechanical skills may not be fortunate to hang on to their present jobs or may be unlucky to get employed today, those with electrical and mechanical skills have a good chance of keeping a regular job and getting higher wages owing to the vital function they serve in major industries.
The field of electro-mechanical technology (EMT) is currently experiencing rapid growth. This can be greatly attributed to the continuous advancement of technology in an effort to keep up with people’s changing technological needs and desires. Electro-mechanical technology refers to a combination of electrical, electronic and mechanical devices to be able to make automated systems for various purposes such as in product testing, manufacturing, electronic instrumentation and processes that utilize computers.
Electro-mechanical devices can do numerous functions such as in the automation and control of the manufacturing process, documentation of distant stars via photographs and regulation of cancer treatments to name a few. Among their major uses are to measure the size, shape, color, weight or temperature of a certain product.
A course in electro-mechanical technology normally includes electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, sensor utilization and an understanding of the different types of motors. Students enrolled in this course are also taught about automation, computers, robots, motor controls, computer-controlled equipment, maintenance and mechanical drives. Most often, this course takes two years to complete with the graduate earning an associate degree in EMT.
Completing this course will enable a graduate to design solutions for a variety of electro-mechanical equipment. Ideally, they should be able to design, develop, test and manufacture electrical and computer-controlled machines, supervise the use of automated devices or assist engineers who develop such equipment in performing tests, recording information and making written reports. Graduates of this course can land in industrial jobs such as being an electro-mechanical technician, industrial electrical technician, machine electrical assembly technician, maintenance electrician and mechanical maintenance technician.
A degree in electro-mechanical instrumentation, for instance, will give people the ability to help engineers design automated systems utilizing computers, science-centered theories and math. Among the careers one can go into are radio installation, precision equipment repair and engineering technology.
The U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics has revealed that employment opportunities in the field of electro-mechanical technology will continue to grow into the future. The agency points to the fact that more industries notably those involved in computer and office machines manufacturing are installing electronic equipment in order to improve their productivity and the quality of the products they offer to consumers.
People who have earned an EMT degree or are interested in getting one should know, however, that their education does not stop after graduation. Technology is constantly changing and those working in electro-mechanical jobs need to keep abreast with the latest trends. One way they can advance in their career is to specialize or pursue further studies.
The Refrigeration School, Inc. equips students with the skills for succeeding in the business world. With comprehensive Electro-Mechanical Technology courses on maintaining and repairing HVAC systems, students learn fundamental techniques and theories behind technology for problem-solving and problem-prevention in heating and cooling units. When you complete the Electro-Mechanical Technology program, RSI will help you with Career Development and help you find the job you’ve always wanted.
Imperfect Boss? Perfect Opportunity To Advance Your Career

You already know your boss is critical to your success-now what? Here's an exercise that will help you identify ways to get your boss in your corner...
Helping your leader also helps you. It's not a zero sum game. In fact, it's the opposite. The more win-win experiences you establish, the more you'll gain.
You may adore and admire your boss. Or, you may or not be compatible on a personal basis. I've heard it all, including "I hate his guts and hope he dies soon, so I can have his job." Rather than plotting his early death, act to contribute to your own advancement-there's a lower risk of jail time, and higher probability of a salary increase.
Everyone realizes the boss is in control from a financial or organizational perspective. But you can gain immediate power and confidence in the relationship from calling to mind reasons to feel gratitude and acknowledging areas of positive influence.
Whether you seek to take your partnership from strained to good, or from good to glowing, reframing it in a context of mutual advancement benefits you in three ways:
1. Adds to your sense of achievement and self-esteem. Anything you accomplish that happens to help your boss is also part of your permanent track record.
2. Establishes positive predisposition and puts you on the same side. You're worried about your boss? Guaranteed she is worried about her boss too. Or she is worried about the Board. When you are both working toward the same goals, you combine your energy rather than wasting it in a power struggle between the two of you.
3. Demonstrates to everyone around that you are an asset. For others on a project team, your boss's boss, or the guy interviewing you for the next higher powered job, if it is clear that you scored a win for your boss, you are instantly more desirable to have on board.
This will be fast and practically painless. I promise. But it does require active participation from you, because, truth is, I don't know your boss like you do.
Please take 60 minutes to write out your responses to the following five questions. These are practical, not rhetorical questions.
Print this out and take it to lunch with a pen, or copy the questions into a Word document. Either way, the real value lies in your real answers.
I. What three things do you appreciate or admire about your boss or learn from your boss?
These don't have to be huge, just honest. We all want to work for someone we respect and someone who can help us advance. So this is our starting point. Consider both professional and personal traits.
Does your boss remind you of an appealing character in a movie or a novel? Does she communicate with style or use expressive vocabulary you find effective? Can she motivate others in a way you admire? Do her edits improve your writing? Does she consistently make eye contact and let you know she's listening? Does she have an energetic approach to attacking an overwhelming task list?
Even after you've done this brainstorming, you have the right to remain silent. Or, at the right time you may choose to tell your boss -if and when if it feels authentic. But please, no gushing praise a week before your bonus review or the day after you put in a request for holiday time during a prime week. Even if you are overcome with a sudden wave of gratitude at those times, it may appear just too much of a coincidence.
II. What are your boss's personal and professional weaknesses?
Go ahead. It's absolutely fine to derive some enjoyment from writing this list. Yes, you can add more if you can't possibly stop at three.
What areas does he find truly challenging? What skills can he simply not seem to master? Does he have weaknesses that embarrass him?
But while you are writing, start to really consider that some of his challenges may not be easy for him to overcome. I feel that way about some of mine, and you may feel that way about some of yours. It would be nice to have a perfect boss. It would also be nice to find a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. If your boss is imperfect, you have a perfect opportunity to be valuable and be valued.
III. What three things could you do to make life better for your boss?
Maybe his weakness is your strength. Maybe you can help him through an upcoming challenge by putting in an extra hour a week. Maybe you can teach him some key phrases in Spanish before his sales trip to Mexico.
Some thoughts:
Respect his time. Everyone wishes he had more time. How can you give him more time to do what he needs or wants to do?
Respect his position. Everyone wants to feel good about his role. How can you add to his prestige? Respect his concerns. How can you solve a problem for him? How can you directly contribute to his achievement of an important goal? How can you leverage your strong points to make your boss look better or feel better? How can you further his goals or compensate for his defects?
If you resent him too much to do this, ask yourself why you continue this relationship and when you will start looking for a new boss. Not every boss is worth staying with, and that is a determination you should make as part of this reflection.
IV. What are three concrete ways your boss can enhance your job?
This is not an abstract question. Be as specific and short-term as possible. What do you want, and how can she help you? Can she approve your attendance at a class or event? Can she delegate a leadership responsibility to you that will enhance your role? Can she spend thirty minutes to coach you every other Tuesday morning? Or would she approve the budget to hire an outside executive coach for you? Would she approve hiring a temp four hours a week to offload your filing?
V. How and when will you communicate these mutual opportunities to your boss?
In upcoming conversations with your boss, try to apply some or all of these responses, and focus carefully on his reaction. You know your boss, and you know what will work best. But don't confuse "what will work best" with "what feels most comfortable." Those may be two separate answers.
Make the most of your chance to communicate respect and enthusiasm for an opportunity for mutual success. Remember: 93% of communication is nonverbal. So please consider a face-to-face discussion unless e-mail or phone is truly your first choice.
Again, this isn't an academic thought process, it is a means to an end. Your goal is your advancement, or at least your sanity. Now you have a plan; more power to you!
What Career Field Is Best For You?

Choosing a career is one of the hardest decisions you will ever have to make. The reason it is so challenging is because this decision will stay with you for a long time and it takes a lot of work to prepare for any career. This choice needs to be made in the first year or two of college if you choose to attend or in your early twenties for most people. It is important to research and explore a bunch of different careers so that you can find the one that is a good fit for you. Once you make a decision about which career you want to have then you have to start working towards that career with college or training of some sort and this takes time. The fact that it takes so much time to get a career going is why the decision of which career you want to begin is so important.
There are a few ways to help people who are unsure about which career they want to pursue. There are personality tests that can tell you if you have an artistic, logical, dominant, or other type of personality and which job is a best fit for your personality. These tests can be taken at a psychologists office or at a number of employment offices prior to enrolling in technical schools or afterwards. The tests can also be found online, although they might not be as legitimate as one at a psychologists office.
It is important to answer all questions honestly and naturally on the personality test because the test is going to match your personality with a job that is appropriate for your personality. If you do not answer all of the questions honestly you might get paired with a job that is not right for you at all. Another test that is popular when trying to find a career path that is right for you is aptitude tests. Aptitude tests tell you whether or not you are capable mentally and possibly physically of performing a job. You can take an aptitude test to test your knowledge of the career field that you are thinking about choosing. Employers might ask you to take an aptitude test before they hire you for a specific job, which is another reason it is important to learn and prepare for a career that you want to pursue.
Choosing a career is a tough but exciting decision that everyone has to make. Luckily there are a few tests we can take to help give us an idea of what we want to do with the rest of our life. If you already know what you want to do, there's a good chance you can find a school tailored to your specific program. For example, if you're interested in dental hygiene you could look for dental hygiene schools in California. Enrolling in one of these schools gives you a better chance of getting an education which will be perfect for the area you're interested in.

Changes.
I know that for many of us, January is a pivotal month. Whether we call them resolutions, promises, initiatives or some other name, it all boils down to the fact that we are planning to start the year by making changes to one or more aspects of our lives. We determine to quit bad habits, acquire good habits, eat less, save more, etc. You know the drill. Unfortunately, these are the types of superficial changes that mask the real changes that need to take place in our lives.
I am referring to profound changes in the way we perceive our experiences, and how those changes can be processed and filtered to improve our relationships with Self and others. Making these kinds of changes requires a huge effort that often takes us far beyond our respective comfort zones.
If we change our way of thinking, we can change our way of seeing. And when we change our perspective on things, Grace follows.
However, until you feel good about yourself by making some internal changes, you won't achieve lasting results with the external changes you make in your life.
Internal Change
Start by taking baby steps toward making internal changes in your relationship with Self.
You are probably familiar with the saying "don't sweat the small stuff." Overall, that's pretty good advice. Sometimes, however, the small stuff is not so small, and we really must address (or "sweat") it, in order to get rid of it and make room for the blessings.
One way to get rid of that small stuff is to add prayer and meditation to your day. This suggestion is not just for religious people, but for spiritual people, as well. It has been said that prayer is simply us talking to God, while meditation is listening to God in the silence.
It is difficult to silence our minds, especially in the early stages of meditation (and sometimes even in the latter stages), so don't try to suppress the thoughts that come up. Just let them pass through your mind. Imagine yourself waiting for traffic to slow down so that you can cross the road. Eventually, there will be a break in the traffic and you will be able to cross. There is an old saying that goes something like this: Trying to control the thoughts in your mind during meditation is like wrestling with a pig in the mud. Two things are accomplished: first, you get dirty; and second, the pig likes it.
I encourage you to start your day with 10 minutes spent in prayer and silence. A carpenter would not start a job without his tools, so why would you start your day without yours? In the silence, we connect to our innermost Self; our heart. The prophets and great teachers have told us that the heart is the place where we can find our true nature.
External Changes
Our lives are made up of a series of routines that are sometimes so ingrained that we no longer recognize them as routines. They are simply there as a part of our daily lives. That's why changing a routine might require some real thought and consideration.
But once you identify those routines, it is fairly easy to make changes to some of them. You could switch the order in which you shave and shower. Brush your teeth before you wash your face or vice versa. Dress yourself by putting on sock, shoe, sock, shoe, instead of sock, sock, shoe, shoe. Order takeout on a different evening. Go grocery shopping at night, instead of during the day. Take a different route to work, or use a different mode of transportation.
The possibilities for change to your routine are endless.
But it does not really matter what routine you change. What matters is that you do something . . . anything . . . differently, and that you notice how it feels, the new things you see, the new people you encounter, etc. Take it all in and really feel the difference that a change in routine can make in your life.
I ask that you take some negative event that has happened in your life and review it. I mean all of it.
I'll give you a short example taken from my life. My parents died within six months of each other: first my Dad when I was 15; then my Mom when I was 16. Both my parents died of cirrhosis of the liver. Because they each suffered from the progressive disease of alcoholism, they had been incapable of taking proper care of me for quite a while. Later in life, when I was able to look at the bigger picture, I was able to see that the need to fend for myself at such an early age led to me developing into the person I ultimately became.
I did not (or felt that I could not) rely on others. I went out and did things for myself. I worked very hard to accomplish my goals because I knew there was no one (or so I thought at the time) to help me. At the same time, I went out of my way to help others who were in similar situations. This is a huge positive that came out of a negative experience early in life.
I ask you to try and look beyond the hurt or resentment of any one experience. Try to pull back and look at the big picture to see how the situation has made you a better person. You will find something positive there. Believe me. Everything happens for a purpose.
Step Outside Your Comfort Zone
I ask you to embrace another change in perspective, and I am guessing that this will be a tougher challenge.
We all have people in our lives that we just automatically pre-judge, often for no concrete reason. Inevitably, these folks end up on a list of people we don't really care for, even though we have not really taken the time to get to know them or find out what makes them tick. But who are these people really? What are they like? Why do they rub us the wrong way? Why do we have such a visceral reaction to them?
Getting the answers to these questions could very well require us to step outside of our respective comfort zones. And believe me when I say that I know what a tremendous challenge it is to step outside the comfort zone. But I promise you that the trip will be worth every bit of discomfort and angst you may feel.
I believe that there are no coincidences. Every person in your life is there for a purpose; they have something to offer you. I challenge you to pick someone on your list and make it your business to learn something about them and really absorb it. Then determine how what you have learned impacts your life. I guarantee that what you learn will in some way change your perspective on that individual.
I hope you have picked up some valuable insights related to change that will assist you as you make your way on your life journey. The exercises I suggested will bring you closer to discovering the secret of being human. May you feel the presence of The Divine Mother, Heavenly Father, and Friend Beloved God walking beside you on this journey every moment.

The Law of Subtraction
We live in a world where bigger is better and more is all the rage. When we are trying to get the life we want, it often involves adding something new: a new routine to lose weight, exercising more, taking a class or starting a new activity. Also, we are always looking for more time–most of us want to spend more time with our friends and family. Lately, we have heard many promises that if you just put out the intent, then it will all happen for you. In our business we have found that this simply is not true for most of our clients. Our clients’ lives are so packed full already that adding just one or two more things in to the mix or the thought of adding anything else is just too overwhelming. Simply willing something you would like to happen is not enough.
We live in a high pressured, busy, success driven, in search of perfection and not excellence type of world. Often you can’t get what you really want because your current lifestyle is so jam-packed with things you don’t want, that there is just no room for anything else.
So before you contemplate adding anything else in your life, practice the law of subtraction. Remember, when you say “yes” to something you have to say “no” to something else. So let’s say “no” to some things, so we have the space to say “yes” to things we want.
You can do this in many ways:
1) If your boss is piling more tasks on an already full plate – ask what could get postponed or handed off to someone else.
2) If you are making impromptu purchases of clothing, furniture and accessories – ask yourself what you are going to let go of that you already own.
3) If you start worrying about a future event – ask yourself what nice things you won’t have time to think about as a result of this worrying. Are you willing to give up those nice thoughts for something that may not happen, alter your mood and cause frustration?
4) You stop spending time with toxic people who don’t make you feel good and find more time to spend with the friends that empower you and make you feel great.
5) You no longer do your children’s laundry or pack their lunches and have more time to do the things you would like to around your home.
6) You spend less time sitting in front of the TV or your computer and you find the time to get moving and do some exercise.
7) You say no to extra volunteer activities and have more time for activities with your partner.
You don't always have to say "yes", even if it is something that you feel you are obligated to do. Saying "no" makes room for the things that matter most in life. Practice the Law of Subtraction and less can actually make you happier and healthier.

New ideas and invention are the life blood and the heart and soul of our innovation, technology, business and economy. Inventions may come in all forms, shapes and sizes. Okay, so you have a fantastic idea great enough to become an invention. Now this invention of yours can be big or small.
At this moment, your invention might only be one simple idea. Nonetheless, you’re going to be sure that you protect yourself from all those concept stealers and keeping your ideas yours. So now what are the necessary steps you have to undertake to make your invention known but still, to make your ideas your property and stop others from copying it and taking credit from it? It is quite simple, actually.
You just have to keep it private first till you are totally protected from theft. We usually have a tendency to announce and broadcast our new and marvelous ideas and inventions until the whole world knows about it sans thinking of those consequences of sharing those privileged knowledge and information to the rest of humanity.
But there is still a catch, though. In order for your new idea or invention to go anywhere public, well, of course it has to be made known. This is the simple reality in the world of business. The age of information has affirmed to us that nothing is ever more sacred and divine than what is inside of our own minds.
Always bear in mind that your knowledge and information are very priceless. Be extra careful when telling even your closest friends and relatives until you are totally sure about their motives and keeping ideas to themselves. Don’t worry, after you get the patent and after you work out all the bugs then and only then you could share your precious ideas and inventions with utter confidence and peace of mind that you are protected over your idea, product or invention.
Getting a patent for your new invention might help in protecting yourself from keeping your intellectual property rights safe and also protect you from information theft. When you decide to patent your new idea, it then becomes legal yours, so to speak. A good idea is to get the services of a Patent Attorney.
A patent agent, patent attorney or patent lawyer could help and assist you act as a legal representative in keeping and guarding your invention idea safe from idea thieves. Getting a patent attorney is the best way to obtain legal representation for your patented products and services. If you are really serious about your idea, then this is a great way to be truly safe all the way to the bank.
Moreover, be very careful when you acquire an invention patent because there are also some companies out there which would just rip you off and take your idea at your own expense. First and foremost, prior to going to a patent organization be sure to check with the better business bureau and see if the company is really legit.
Next, you could speak to other inventors out there that have utilized their services. You can always thank yourself later.
Money Making Ideas For Kids That Are Easy by: Derrick Janson

One valuable lesson that kids should learn is that they need to earn their own money and some simple money making ideas for kids can aid you in teaching this. As a parent you are probably aware that kids constantly want things and ask for you to spend money on them. It really does not matter the age anymore and if you want your kids to have these things that they want then it is also important that you teach them the responsibilities that come along with it.
Some people think that the best thing to do with kids and money is to freely give it to them. This is because they do not want them to ever think about financial problems during their childhood but this could be a really bad thing. The value that is being taught is that someone should just give you money not the reality that money is earned.
It is important that children realize that money has to be earned. This can be done in a variety of different ways. One simple way that you can do this is by basically giving your child a chore chart and awarding money as chores are completed.
There are a lot of great choices for kids who want a job and a way to earn money. A great choice for a lot of kids is a simple stand where they can sell lemonade. There is also the opportunity to be able to take campaign or sale fliers around the neighborhood.
There are many great options for children who want to be outside like washing cars or mowing lawns. If being outside is not the top choice then there is always babysitting or having a bake sale. You might also find that animal loves enjoy helping care for pets or walking dogs.
Another great think to think of with money making ideas for kids is the value of an allowance. This is one way that you can teach your kids multiple money lessons at the same while also getting them to pitch in and do work around the house. Plus it is a great way to help them understand the value of money as well and things like savings too.

Nigerian Culture Surpluses.
One of the Signs of an extremely developed Society is not how organized it is but rather how much of its cultural Surpluses it generates and how much of it is allowed to seep into other cultures. How much of its way of Life is accepted in other cultures, How much of its media is accepted by people in other societies…..
Most Times the Biggest Cultural Exporters are the most affluent Societies; The Reason for this trend is Quite Simple! ’’There is A lot of Disposable income lying around” That is why is isn’t unusual to see kids in Indian Villages call themselves Blokes,
Or young People in Western Africa address their buddies as ‘Nigger’, which to me is a very heartbreaking situation because the term in its entirety is extremely Derogatory and Debases a Particular. group of people. And a whole lot of other Factors.
A Cursory look at America might show that the strongest arm of it Economy is the Corporate Sector. We all might argue that that’s true but after all American Firms are the Largest and most Capitalized in the World with an overwhelming Global Reach.. But its even more interesting to note that American cultural exports far surpasses the GDP of about twenty countries put together. A Conservative estimate of total revenue from all Books,Movies, toys and other Entertainment Merchandise is 900 Billion Dollars,
this is for 2009 alone and that figure is projected to reach about 1 Trillion Dollars by the end of 2011,one could say that other albeit equally important sectors of that Economy pales in significance when earnings are compared.
Coming back home,I have been following avidly with unbridled interest
The The Cultural Revolution that has been gradually gathering speed and Sweeping across Nigeria Like Storm Winds…..
Nigerians In the past relied heavily on foreign Cultural influences and Surpluses for entertainment, Mostly from the worlds biggest Culture seller’s.`USA.Back in the late 90’s and early 2000, this worrisome trend continued(although it has since begun to abate in great measures ) In the those Days, there quite wasn’t a way that parties could be complete without some Foreign sounds coming in the mix, Our Radios were bereft of local content for a local audience and a whole lot unpleasant Scenarios.
But the Progress we have in the past few Years astounds me deeply and continues to astoundalmost every Pundit who has followed the industry keenly for some Years now. Nigeria
The research of United Nations Educational, Scientific and Culture Organization shows that India still produces the most films in the world, but Nigeria has taken America's place to produce the second most films in the world. Winter̢۪s Most First-Grade bags Street

Nigerian film's prosperity depends on its massive home video and television industry, movie industry, which greatly reduced the cost of film production. As the survey points out, Nigeria has virtually no formal film industry, with about 99% of films produced and issued by informal companies. In Nigeria, there are many so-called "home theater", 56% Nigeria film using the native language, the other 44% are done in English,The English language film has contributed a lot for the exports of Nigeria's movies.
