Growing Up, Sam was a very quiet and introspective Child, and Recalls that Life was very Pleasant because The Home "Was Warm and saturated with so much Love" But this idyllic setting wasn't to last Forever because the Economic Turmoil of the 1980's would turn things around Drastically. and cause the Revenue from the family business to dwindle and cause a bit of hardships. This according to Sam is ''What Galvanized me to action because i felt that there was a better deal than the Reality that i was living with'' This is what spurred his relationship with with God and would several Years Later would Culminate in his receiving of the Vision that would Berth Daystar Christian Center. Rev Sam Adeyemi received a vision for Success Power International and Daystar Christian Centre in 1994 after praying and fasting. He began with a radio programme. On 18th November 1995, Daystar Christian Centre was inaugurated at the Eko Chinese Restaurant on 76 Allen Avenue on the 4th floor.
After a hectic beginning involving the inability to pay for venue’s. The Lord gave Pastor Adeyemi dream showing the growth of the church and when he woke up he asked God how this could be turned into reality. The Lord told him three weeks of prayer and fasting and that is what they did. They prayed through the night and had a 24 hour prayer chain and a few days before the end of the fast they saw a warehouse that was available to be rented. That is how they received their present office building. With the Lords guidance the church grew and they currently have around 50,000 members. (Source: www.daystarng.org)
